About Jim McErlean
Jim McErlean has over 20 years of distinguished sales, marketing, and business development management experience in the insurance industry. At Cannasure, Jim has direct oversight of sales, distribution management as well as accessing new and emerging trends within the cannabis & hemp arena that warrant product and/or service development within the firm. In addition, Jim is responsible for guiding the company’s development of future strategic partnerships.

About Matt Engle
With over 15 years of insurance experience, Matt Engle has a broad background working in the construction, hospitality, nonprofit, and cannabis industries. Matt is a sought after speaker and instructor on cannabis insurance programs, having been published in the Cannabis Industry Journal, being a faculty member with The Seminar Group, and having written insurance programs in the cannabis industry since 2014. His primary responsibility is to consult with profit and nonprofit businesses to create action plans to lower their total cost of risk and keep their employees safe through a customized insurance and risk management program.

About Kelly Yates
Kelly is the Vice President of Claims at Topa Insurance Company. He is the claims executive for Topa and is responsible for training and strategic development for the department, with oversight of all claims functions. Prior to Topa, Kelly worked at both State Farm Insurance Company and State Auto Insurance Company, and he holds the designation of CPCU (Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter). As Topa is one of the few insurance carriers offering coverage specifically designed for the cannabis industry, Kelly has had the opportunity to oversee the handling of property, liability and products liability claims for various cannabis entities in dozens of jurisdictions around the country. Kelly is a frequent speaker on cannabis insurance and other topics at the DRI, CLM and other venues.
